The Macclesfield Canal has broken through its bank. This is called a breech. Or is it spelled breach?

It's pants either way.

(That's a pun only Brits and Aussies will understand. Breeches are a type of trousers. The expression "it's pants" means "it's unpleasant". A breach is a rupture.)

For comparison, last year's Lancaster breach cost £1,600,000 to repair.

Three pics of our first and last proper sunset in #Cairo. We did a little boat trip with a traditional sailing boat near our hotel after the sun set and it was beautiful and most of all: quiet

Photo of a little sailing boat with still mostly reefed sail sailing away from me into the sunset. The sky is a pale blue with a pastel yellow and weak orange smog cover behind the skyline. The water is calm and reflects the sky in darker tones.

Photo back to our hotel which is a high tower between low buildings right at the shore. It's not square but an elegandly curved shape without corners. On top is a disk like shape where a recolving restaurant is placed. The disk is illuminated and glows in the falling night. A couple more of the windows are illuminated. The buildings at the foot of the hotel are fully illuminated in strong golden colours. Their glow reflects endlessly in the small ripples of the water, only interrupted by a single bigger boat parked in front of the hotel. The bright almost full moon stands high in the darkening sky.

View from our room high in the hotel. We were on the 33rd floor, close to the restaurant on top. We look across the river and the cityscape on both sides. The sun is currently setting as a wide glowing ball, but the colours are muted yellow. A bridge spans across the river in the distance.

That time I went kayaking in the Atlantic Ocean. When I went out east in 2015, I hauled my kayak with me. This was the first time kayaking in salt water. The buoyancy difference from fresh to saltwater is amazing! I felt a hundred pounds lighter! This is off the coast of Maine. For awhile it looked like the sailboat was going to run into the lighthouse, but it went behind the lighthouse island.
