Rocky Beach

After days of wanting to go, yesterday evening I finally actually got the chance to go to the beach. I opted for Schoorl, one of my favourite beaches in the Netherlands. These rocks always offer a nice foreground. Using a long exposure, the retreating sea created a nice blanket of waves around them.

Small white sandy beach on a small island. There are granite rocks behind it. Beyond a blue strip of sea is a craggy granite shore on Mull where there are also fine white sand beaches. Blue sky and sunshine.

It was a Good Friday indeed. Great, even, if I dare say.

It was a super low tide today, and so you could walk a hundred meters or more offshore before hitting the water. Eerie and wonderful, in a careful balance.

A coastal landscape featuring a wide sandy beach in the foreground, where a large driftwood log lies near patches of green seaweed and a rocky barrier. A few people can be seen walking along the rocks. It is low tide, where narrow water channels separate expanses of wet sand. Further out, a massive red cargo ship with the word CHELLSHIP painted in large yellow letters spans the midground, floating in calm water. Behind the ship, a densely forested hill rises, and beyond that, layers of blue-toned mountains stretch across the horizon, some with snow-covered peaks. The sky is overcast but bright, casting soft light over the entire scene.

A coastal scene with a wide expanse of wet sand in the foreground, exposed at low tide and marked by shallow pools of water. Several people and a few dogs are walking or wading across the flats. Two small white motorboats glide across the water near the sandbanks. It was a gorgeous spring day today in SE Massachusetts! I took a nice long walk along the #CapeCod canal all the way to the end of this jetty that lines the entrance to the canal from the ocean. Looked for whales that had been active here lately, but no sign of spouts. Maybe they've just moved on to another spot. #FootpathFriday #ocean
