Musician, academic here. Most importantly for this place, I sit on the board of directors for my housing co-op and have put a considerable amount of thought into the housing co-op model over the last year or so. It's how I can afford, as an artist, to stay in Toronto. Wisdom across the housing co-op sector is a huge part of how I can help make my home co-op better, and I look forward to dipping my toes into this space.

What is social.coop? Who are we (it's members)? How do we contribute?

We've started a thread on loomio, where we will post one question every couple of weeks that will help us to get to know each other as members, with the objective of using this understanding of each other, our motivations and expectations to launch the next phase of social.coop.

Second question: What role(s) do you have in the co-op movement?

Anyone have a recommendation as to a good introduction to as I proceed further down this :bunny: hole?

In an effort to better understand our community and strengthen ties, volunteers on the community working group are currently running a member survey. They are using a "snowballing"-type networking approach in which members reach out to other members. Please help by doing the survey and helping spread the word.

If you have strong objections to the survey, feel free to share them.

I hope we will all take the "good enough to try" approach.

Hey there social.coop folks (and hello again fediverse). I've been on mastodon.social recently but I'm excited to see what's happening here. Hoping to find and share resources on in general, but I'm particularly interested in tech co-ops, small-scale farm/garden co-ops and the role that co-ops play in social, economic and environmental justice causes. I'll probably also toot a bit about and maybe
