@zanny
Anyways, this is why I'm thinking a consumer cooperative might make more logistic sense. A group of users organizing to hire who they need. Maybe (and definitely eventually!) a hybrid cooperative with developer and user needs administratively balanced. Wonder if there's anyone on @SocialCoop who could help set that up. @redoak @mattcropp any ideas?

Last chance to participate in our latest (3rd) poll for our "what is social.coop?" survey:

What is social.coop? Who are we (it's members)? How do we contribute?

We've started a thread on loomio, where we will post one question every couple of weeks that will help us to get to know each other as members, with the objective of using this understanding of each other, our motivations and expectations to launch the next phase of social.coop.

Third question: "I would be a bigger social.coop fan if..." (in 500 characters or less)

"What kinds of co-op enthusiasts/practitioners/scholars reside among us?"

Looks like most of us are co-op members and general co-op fans! Wahoo! Goooooo co-ops!

Musician, academic here. Most importantly for this place, I sit on the board of directors for my housing co-op and have put a considerable amount of thought into the housing co-op model over the last year or so. It's how I can afford, as an artist, to stay in Toronto. Wisdom across the housing co-op sector is a huge part of how I can help make my home co-op better, and I look forward to dipping my toes into this space.

"How do you use/participate in social.coop?"

Looks like the most popular use of social.coop is to "post and read toots about co-operatives"

Living in a place where a significant chunk of the economy is tourism-based, got to thinking recently about the role that can play building community wealth and minimizing extraction in tourist economies.

Anyone have a recommendation as to a good introduction to as I proceed further down this :bunny: hole?
