Social.Coop "office hours" (we need a better name) are a space for members of social.coop to host discussion about anything of interest to them. If you are interested in sharing something you are doing, thinking, enjoying, dreaming, playing... check out this thread: https://www.loomio.org/d/D2YHLxq8/social-coop-office-hours

This Thursday at 10am EST/15:00 GMT, we'll be kicking off a weekly(-ish) series of "Member Office Hours" with @mattcropp hosting a conversation on real estate co-ops in this meet.coop room: https://ca.meet.coop/b/mik-cuv-85e
The idea for this series is to create space for members to host conversations on topics of interest to them and the #socialcoop community, so if you have an idea you'd like to host a chat about, please pick a week and add it to the scheduing spreadsheet linked in the announcements!
Want to know more about what is going on with social.coop?

social.coop meta, time poll
Hey #socialcoop folks, heads up that there's a time poll active for the next few days to nail down a date for a follow-up call to explore a few of the themes that emerged from the recent strategy sessions. If you'd like to have your availability inform the scheduling process, please respond in the next few days!
We have a few on-going discussions on loomio that would LOVE to have your input!
About membership in our loomio group:
We have a check poll going about Social.coop Loomio Membership: https://www.loomio.org/d/pZuRV5gD/social-coop-loomio-membership/1
We will start removing members at the end of the check poll, so please let us know if you have any qualms about this process
CWG Ops Team Minutes are up:
Have forgotten to do this for the past few months, but will try to back post in the coming weeks before our next Ops meeting in November!
social.coop meta, strategy summits
Hey #socialcoop folks - if you'd like to attend one of our instance's "strategy summits" later this month, please RSVP to this Loomio Poll: https://www.loomio.org/d/6SoVapyj/2020-social-coop-strategy-summit/53
Is anyone else at @SocialCoop having difficulty uploading media to a post? I seem to be getting a 500 error at the moment.
It's back to @emi for moderation duties.
My goal for this week is to finally catch up on cleaning up our membership list on loomio.
Many of you have gotten an email from me requesting that you add a "title" to your social.coop loomio profile. If you haven't gotten an email, it means you have already done this! Thank you!
If you're a member of social.coop but haven't yet created or accessed our loomio group, please let me know! We'd love to have you join in the discussion there :)
Another gentle nudge for folks to update their loomio account with their social.coop handle :)
To do this, go to the MEMBERS tab on the social.coop loomio home page.
Find your name and click the three dots on the right hand side.
Select "set title".
Some folks have been adding their social.coop handle to their profile instead of changing their title- it really helps to have the handle as the title so we can connect loomio members to social.coop users!
"We should care less about whether something is centralized or decentralized than whether it is accountable. An accountable system is responsive to both the common good for participants and the needs of minorities; it sets consistent rules and can change them when they don't meet users needs" Nathan Schneider
It's @emi back on moderation duties for social.coop this week!
i've been so inspired by all of the great posts regarding co-op responses to COVID-19 and overall outreach that is happening at the moment.
every co-op is only as (insert adjective here) as it's members! toot, create and initiate to help social.coop reflect the kind of co-op you would like it to be!
