Hello! It's moderator @michaelafisher on for the week. Happy to see you all 😉
Another gentle nudge for folks to update their loomio account with their social.coop handle :)
To do this, go to the MEMBERS tab on the social.coop loomio home page.
Find your name and click the three dots on the right hand side.
Select "set title".
Some folks have been adding their social.coop handle to their profile instead of changing their title- it really helps to have the handle as the title so we can connect loomio members to social.coop users!
"We should care less about whether something is centralized or decentralized than whether it is accountable. An accountable system is responsive to both the common good for participants and the needs of minorities; it sets consistent rules and can change them when they don't meet users needs" Nathan Schneider
It's @emi back on moderation duties for social.coop this week!
i've been so inspired by all of the great posts regarding co-op responses to COVID-19 and overall outreach that is happening at the moment.
every co-op is only as (insert adjective here) as it's members! toot, create and initiate to help social.coop reflect the kind of co-op you would like it to be!
@michaelafisher moderating this week! Hope you're all staying safe 💕
In case you haven't logged on to loomio in a while, we're asking social.coop members to update their profile with their social.coop username since it's hard to know who is who!
We have a check poll going and so far 19 members have updated! Thank you!!
Back to @emi for admin duties for the week.
Exciting to see all of the interesting questions and discussions happening on loomio around Integrative Consent in decision making.
If you haven't already checked it out, please do! (we'd love to hear from you, but also.. no pressure 😀)

Vote on adding this to our Federation Abuse Policy will be live for 6 days in this thread: https://www.loomio.org/d/MNQCzgIV/policy-updates

Hope social.coop-ers are feeling engaged and happy with the instance.
It's been a bit of a slow start for me personally this year, but am very grateful to be connected with all these pockets of inspiration around the world through this instance.
Looking forward to many more opportunities for collaboration and co-creation this year!

So happy to be here! Here's my #introduction: I'm a lifelong social justice activist and Fellow of the School for Social Entrepreneurs from the UK, currently involved in several initiatives that are transitioning into co-ops. I'm becoming very enthusiastic about co-ops and worker-ownership models as a way of democratising the economy and keen to meet like-minded people, exchange ideas, and help contribute to the movement! I'm also a big fan of decentralised social networks!
