A bit geeky, I know, but I love this old stone wall in the Yorkhill area of Glasgow. I've got no idea of its age, but it leads down to the former Bishop's Mill, on the banks of the River Kelvin, which was built in 1839.

The pouring process was done in two stages. The top section has been poured with a mixture of cement and crushed mussel shells, the rest of the body has been poured with coarse sand added to the mix. Once the concrete had cured, the roof section has been wet polished while the rest has been wire brushed. Resulting in different textures, feels and looks.
Love the detail on the grave monument for the theatre impresario John Henry Alexander in the Glasgow Necropolis, especially the rather wind-blown foliate green man.

A ghost building on Robertson Street in Glasgow. I love all the different phases visible in the stone and brickwork, especially the window at the top right which is made from blonde sandstone and then has been half filled with red bricks and half with concrete blocks, presumably at different times. This effect may have taken between 100 and 150 years to create.

I love the intertwined numbers you get on date plaques of late Victoria and Edwardian buildings in Glasgow. I particularly like the way the zero hangs off the nine on this one from a tenement on Bridgegate.
Sculpted oak leaves and acorns on the spandrel of an entrance arch to the former tannery building on Saint Andrew's Square in the East End of Glasgow. It was built in the 1870s for John Inglis and Company. Love the quality of this stonework.

Love this red sandstone decorative gargoyle on William Leiper's 1886 Simple Gothic style Hyndland Parish Church in the West End of Glasgow. The way it was catching the late afternoon light today made it really stand out
