6/ Beyond articles, the CDC has already begun removing or altering health data on its website, including statistics on HIV and youth risk behavior. Experts fear this could distort public health efforts and hinder the ability to track diseases within key demographics. #HealthData #PublicHealthCrisis

8/ The removal of health data, such as information on sexual health, youth behavior, and HIV care, is alarming to public health experts. They warn it creates dangerous gaps in understanding and responding to public health crises, especially for vulnerable groups. #PublicHealthCrisis

@WuMargaret It is not going well but I'm gonna ensure my client gets best care possible in shitty hospital, unsafe settings. My current client is another #immunocompromised patient who got #covid from #UnmaskedMedical staff & that avoidable infection led to cardiac arrest - months after initial infection, on patient with no heart issues prior. It is brutal as it was same way my Dad & elder Auntie got infected in #hospitals too - by unmasked #medical staff.

Finding Moral Courage

"Silence in the face of a polio epidemic

Last week, Gaza’s Ministry of Health announced the detection of poliovirus in sewage water samples, placing residents at significant risk of contracting this highly infectious virus. Despite a 99% decline in global polio cases since 1988 due to extensive vaccination campaigns, the eradication of polio is now under threat. The ongoing conflict in Gaza, characterized by Israeli military actions that have damaged or destroyed water infrastructure, has exacerbated conditions conducive to the spread of diseases. Limited access to clean drinking water, poor hygiene, overcrowding, and disruptions to childhood immunizations, including boosters, all contribute to this public health crisis.

In response to this alarming development, U.S. medical professional organizations have remained conspicuously silent. [...]"

Very bad bill! A "war on drugs" will NOT solve the problem of fentanyl or any other illegal drug. We know this! So frustrating!
"Citing Alaska’s high mortality rates associated with drug overdoses, Alaska Gov. Mike Dunleavy is seeking harsher criminal penalties for people who make or supply controlled substances that cause someone’s death. Under the legislation, prosecutors would be able to charge drug dealers and drug manufacturers connected to the death with second-degree murder, exposing criminal defendants to longer sentences and eliminating early release.

Several family members of individuals who’ve died from substance poisoning support the bills. However, the ACLU of Alaska has raised concerns about the legislation’s effectiveness and its potential to undermine public safety.

On March 27, the House Judiciary Committee approved one version of the legislation, House Bill 66, and sent it to the finance committee."
