Joe Sacco's "Palestine" is a non-fiction graphic book that documents his experiences in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip during December 1991 and January 1992. The book includes an introduction by Edward Said and won the American Book Award in 1996.
Sacco's graphic novel is known for its detailed portrayal of the daily lives of Palestinians and the historical context of their situation.
After Oct. 7 the book sold out and was quickly reprinted by Fantagraphics to meet the high demand.

For hours, the military didn’t officially disclose his whereabouts, and attempts to locate him failed. When the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) finally issued a statement, they absurdly labelled him and his fellow villagers terrorists.
This facade of justice, when law is nothing but an empty shell, is typical of how the Israeli occupation works. Under its veneer of legality, the most brutal savagery is legitimised and the role of criminal and victim inverted."
