Framing the discussion as "Calling them out" is falling to the same delusional PR game narrative trap as companies use to escape regulation.

You need regulation because companies are fundamentally amoral, neither good nor bad. They don't operate in moral dimension.

- Neoliberals were right about the nature companies.
- Companies have no moral character.
- It's all about #incentives.
- Thus we need regulation to change their incentives so that the outcome is #prosocial.

#AudreyTang : "#Prosocial media also addresses the centralization of #socialmedia platforms and the resulting unhealthy concentration of curation power in the hands of a few tech giants.

#Decentralization holds the promise of a more democratic internet, where people have greater control over their data and online experiences, leading to a proliferation of local communities, all interconnected through #openprotocols."

«We define morality as a set of principles that distinguishes between right and wrong (or the good and the bad) and that guides the conduct of members of a group or community.5 In a more concrete sense, our morality, or moral system, is an interlocking system of values, beliefs, norms, practices, habits, identities, and attitudes/orientations that shapes us, guides us and spurs us (or not) to behave and act in certain ways as we navigate our social worlds. Morality functions to promote and regulate social interactions and cooperation that we necessarily must have as a result of coexisting with other people while constraining behavior and action that may bring harm to others in our community in particular ways.[...]

I’m excited to be a co-author on a new #OpenAccess article published with @jhbeffel in Infant and Child Development.

Using #ERGM and #metaanalysis, we find that #children with higher levels of #prosocial behavior had more affiliative relationships. We also found that the more similar children were in prosocial behavior, the more likely they were to have an affiliative relationship.
