You have probably seen this #viral #infographic on #eu #digitalsovereignty by #reddit user u/lukakopajtic. It was viral but not very accurate recommending #bluesky and #firefox as "EU alternatives"? How? Anyway, he just updated the infographic, and it's much, much better! Most issues have been corrected. I think there is still a couple of issues I disagree with: 1) recommending #matrix instead of #jabber #xmpp 2) recommending #lineageos instead of #grapheneos (but OK, I can understand this if the focus is on self-sovereignty only), 3) recommending #droidify instead of #accrescent (but, even here, I can understand if the goal is to replace #playstore ), and 4) recommending #thunderbird as a comparison to #gmail (nothing wrong with Thunderbird, but that's an email client, not a Gmail-like suite provider, I would have rather recommended #mailfence or #mailbox ). Kudos for the initiative though, the intentions are good!

I'm typically not big on the whole phone gaming scene, but the #FOSS game on #fdroid (and as always I'll mention I use #droidify as my front-end) called #Breakout71 has me kinda obsessed.

Its a #roguelike twist on the old Breakout formula. And it 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬𝘴. Its only 110 KB in size. Its bright. The sound is beautiful. The design is amazing.

It suspends when you exit the window and its a true time-sink for #gaming

It let's you capture and log the birds you hear around you. It shows pictures of the birds, in fact its like a kinda #nature version of Pokemon GO

Waiting for F-Droid to update its repos gives me warm memories of Cydia doing the same, lol

(I use #FDroid sometimes because it has privileged access to do auto-updates on my phone. So I just check it to see what's been updated. I use Droid-Ify to actually search for new apps, as it's waaaay better (thanks @joel))

It seems #Google's war against #ThirdPartyAppStores has escalated to abusing #GooglePlayProtect to spread #FUD about them.

Someone in the #FDroid chat posted an image about being warned that #Droidify can track them.

While getting a list of installed apps could be used to detect e.g. sexual orientation (if a gay dating app is installed), it is much more minor than the tracking many apps on Google Play actively do. Yet, it allows Google to mark all third party app stores as dangerous.
