From 1942 to 1945, the Navajo #CodeTalkers were instrumental in every major #MarineCorps operation in the Pacific Theater of #WorldWarTwo.

They were critical to securing America's victory at #IwoJima.

Naxios identified at least 10 articles mentioning the Code Talkers that had disappeared from the U.S. Army and Department of Defense websites as of Monday.

Ok so season 3 of “#DarkWinds” has arrived. One of my favorite #tv shows. It features a lot of #Diné/ #Navajo language, and the season premiere had some #Yaqui and #Mixtec as well. Lots of work for the subtitlers right? Well not really. They’re content to write “[speaking Mixtec]”. Not enough money to transliterate, let alone translate. Some characters are diglossic so they’re using two languages in the same sentence like “No way that [speaks Diné] ever stood a chance”. I hate it.
