_The Evening Post_, 23 May 1924:
                DOMESTIC HELP
      SERVANTS OFFERING IN
                  AUCKLAND
  PRIVATE SERVICE NOT WANTED
(BY TELEGRAPH.—SPECIAL TO THE POST.)
                              AUCKLAND, This Day.
A domestic help problem in Auckland at present is to place those seeking engagement—certainly an unusual state of affairs. At the same time finding help for a private house is a difficult proposition, although probably not so acute as it has been in the past.…
“Several positions offered this morning were filled before they were entered on the books,” said the proprietor of another registry. “There is plenty of help available, but only for certain classes of work. Generals are scarce, but waitresses, housemaids, ladyhelps, and housekeepers are in over supply.” Most girls made stipulations such as no cooking, no washing, a day off every week, and every evening, until “Punch’s” conception of the domestic as an honoured guest seemed close to realisation.

_The Evening Post_, 28 Jan 1924:
WOMEN IN PRINT.
The Bishop of Rochester’s wife, Mrs Harmer, has a woman in her household whom she says is “the most wonderful woman in Rochester.” She is the old family nurse who has been the faithful servant of the Harmer family for 75 years, and will soon reach her 90th birthday. In the Old Country these things happen, maids, nurses especially, remain generations in the same family. Out here it would be regarded as marvellous, seventy-live days or even seven not being an un[u]sual period to remain in one family these days.

Turns out the Myanmar military hadn't really thought about the #digital presence of the #state when planning its coup.

Hundreds of thousands of #Civil #servants joined the civil disobedience movement and took their #admin #credentials with them - occasionally kicking out the remaining admins or taking the assets offline to prevent their takeover.

It took the military months to assert control - and they still only have ~68% of the #ministries #Facebook accounts.

They kept trying though, which makes us fear for the #safety of the admins who may be getting targeted and maybe even tortured for a chance at recovering the priced blue ticked accounts. :verified_flashing:
