The Local #Transport Grant (LTG) for 2025-2026 is a one-year capital grant designed to supplement the Integrated Transport Block (ITB) funding for local transport and maintenance in England. It is allocated to local transport authorities (LTAs) in the North and Midlands, excluding areas that receive City Region Sustainable Transport Settlements (CRSTS) funding. The funding is calculated based on a formula, with 70% allocated according to population and 30% based on deprivation levels. The total LTG allocation for 2025-2026 is £226 million. Notable allocations include Greater #Lincolnshire Combined County Authority (£25.35 million), #Lancashire Combined County Authority (£34.95 million), and #Hull and East #Yorkshire Combined Authority (£15.63 million). Other authorities such as #Staffordshire and #Worcestershire will receive £15.63 million and £11.13 million, respectively, supporting local transport improvements across #England.

This guy is going to lose, I know it. He sounds just like every other Labour politician from the Business Classes, and the voters know it too.

Labour's big idea, they accept they're seen as having drifted from their original mission of serving the interests of the Working Class so have a businessman represent them and talk like a London political consultant....just like they always do. 🤷‍♂️

#Arriva Group plans to submit an application for expanded open access rail connections in #Yorkshire and the #Humber, aiming to provide direct services from #Cleethorpes and #Grimsby to #London. This proposal, which will be notified to Network Rail and submitted to the Office of Rail and Road (ORR), seeks to extend existing routes with Grand Central, potentially starting in December 2026. The new services would offer four daily return trips and over 775,000 additional seats annually, addressing the lack of direct links to London for over 30 years.

Amanda Furlong, Interim Managing Director of Arriva’s #UK #Trains division, highlighted the proposal's potential to enhance connectivity and drive economic growth in #Lincolnshire, with an estimated £30.1 million annual benefit. Arriva also operates under various contract types and is committed to promoting sustainable #transport solutions.

The name Ferdinando is common amongst my Ironmonger ancestors from Lincolnshire in the 1600s and 1700s. They were probably named after Ferdinando Fairfax, 2nd Lord Fairfax of Cameron (29 Mar 1584 – 14 Mar 1648 - pictured). Ferdinando was a commander in the Parliamentarian army in the English Civil War. His son, Thomas Fairfax, commanded the New Model Army. The name suggests which side my Ironmonger ancestors supported.
