credits rolled on #horizonforbiddenwest base game at ~55 hours. not often I finish a game, so clearly I liked it overall

good: clearing bandit camps and cauldrons, fighting robot dinosaurs, exploration. it's beautiful

bad: the crafting is overly complex and bad (I don't need 40 upgradeable bows!), I struggled to engage with the story because of recurring similarities to white savior tropes, and the last mission is a little rinse-repeat boring, which is a shame

It's been a brutal week in the video games industry! #SupermassiveGames fired around 90 workers, #Sony fired around 900 affecting #InsomniacGames, #NaughtyDog, and #GuerrillaGames, also #DeckNine fired 30 people, #ElectronicArts about 670 people, and my friend Hannah's indie studio #DieGuteFabrik shuttering completely.

I really feel for all who have lost their jobs and hope that it turns out better for them in the long run. So much talent and dedication in these people! #GameDev #VideoGames
