Step through vines into the greenery of the New Jersey Pine Barrens, where historic Kirby's Mill stands witness to a bygone era, its restored red siding reflecting in the tranquil mill pond. Peering through the tangled branches, you can almost hear the hum of the mill's waterwheel echoing across centuries. Overgrown foliage brings a sense of mystery and discovery, as if you stumbled on a hidden gem.

#SilentSunday — took one of the boys fishing in the #NewJersey #PineBarrens. It would be silent but for a light breeze on occasion — but there are plenty of Canada geese around, as well as a C5 Galaxy that is doing touch-and-gos, either at Pomona (FAATC) or McGuire (can't tell). Spot the juvenile pickeral and the snapping turtle in the photos of the shallows. Can't appreciate the turtle's size here. I wouldn't be surprised if it was 50+ years old and > 50 pounds.

Didn't even forage on this morning's run. Breakfast was waiting — baked #puffball #mushroom, thin-sliced onion, lettuce & chipotle pepper salsa on the best (bought) #bread in the🌎 — sub roll from an #AtlanticCity bakery. Skip the casinos, definitely try the bread. Don't know what makes it so good — artesian well water from the #PineBarrens aquifer is often credited: wpgtalkradio.com/why-cant-you-
The water is delicious, so... maybe ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Fragile ecosytem, complex human relationships.
