For No Depression, I reviewed Avery Friedman's stunning debut album New Thing. Friedman is a fearless artist. The album will thrill those who yearn for the days of sad indie bands in Williamsburg clubs. While Friedman and her band might be further along on the L train, they’ve moved past the detached melancholy of that cohort and instead utilize the same musical strains to confront and move beyond the pain that holds them back.
jasmine.4.t's album produced by Boygenius is really, really great, I'm so glad that I chose it to start my day with this morning. Definitely check it out, especially in light of the anti-trans ruling in the UK that definitely has major effect on them.
