I got this new piece finished on my livestream yesterday. It’s based on “The Frog Prince”. I’m really happy with how it turned out, and the plant chain brush created by Maddy Bellwoar for Procreate ( https://www.artbymaddy.com/ ) was perfect for my willow branches!

I absolutely love texture, and I love Art Nouveau, and I love storytelling, so these images I’m doing really make my heart sing!

A close-up photograph shows a corner where two dry-stone walls meet, revealing the construction details and the natural variations in the stone. The walls are built from thin, irregular pieces of slate or similar layered rock, stacked horizontally without mortar. The stones exhibit a range of colours, including greys, browns, and hints of rust, creating a textured and aged appearance.
At the corner, a large, roughly triangular section of a different type of rock is visible, embedded within the wall. This rock has distinct diagonal striations of dark grey and lighter, almost golden-brown hues. It appears to be a more solid, less layered type of stone compared to the surrounding wall material.
Small patches of greenery, including moss and tiny plants, are growing in the crevices between the stones, particularly near the top and bottom of the frame, indicating the age and weathering of the structure. The ground at the base of the walls is covered with loose stones and sparse vegetation.

Strangely, this is the trunk of a birch tree (there is a small preserved section of white birch bark above, and a piece of chaga), apparently very old. It was taken on an unnamed hilltop not far from the old Finnish border.

So I went to Berlin last night to see The Wombats and they played this song. And when I hear #lemons, I think back to this wonderful little piece of art that decorates an old door in #Collobrières. I don't know if it was meant to have this #texture or if the 3-D design is due to decades of paint, but I love it.
