@jacqueline yeah, The @frameworkcomputer #FrameworkDesktop is a major let-down to me because it's just a "shittier #MacStudio" and #SolderedDownRAM is not excuseable at that form factor!

I think that #CAMM is a bad design compared to #SODIMM & #DIMM...
- Like #Apple's bs of #SolderedDownRAM but just slightly less worse cuz now one could only in theory get a daughterboard and doesn't have to replace individual chips.
Still, just gimme regular-ass socketed Chips & #DIMMs ffs!
- Also we don't need to make the THINN-nest machines ffs - just make them #repairable and #serviceable and #upgradeable, because #AntiRepairDesign is way more unsustainable than the 0,1% of idiots who give a shit about whether their #DDR5-RAM can do 6400MT/s or 4800MT/s, simply because most users won't notice that at all (unlike switching from a 2,5" #SATA-#HDD running at 5400rpm to an #NVMe-#SSD that maxes out #PCIe 4x connections.
#FACT: #RAM & #SSD|s are inevitably dying due to age and use and like #ThermalPaste need to be #replaceable for a device to work longterm!
- So stop the #Enshittification of #tech FFS!
I'd rather have a #THICC af #laptop that actually survives my daily use than some flimsy #tablet that snaps in half if I sneeze at it.
- No seriously, most devices can't even fit proper ports and cooling fans for no good reason whatsoever!
Also I think it's insulting to frame basic things like "stability" as a negative.

I want @EUCommission & @BMWK to #ban #AntiRepairDesign as pioneered and rolled out by #Apple and copied by a lot of others!
- Espechally ban #SolderedDownStorage & #SolderedDownRAM as well as #GluedInBatteries and #PartsPairing as well as #iCloudLock because all these tactics solely exist to prevent #Repair and thus #Reuse and being an active generation of 100% avoidable #eWaste to the point that this needs to be prosecuted as #EnvoirmentalCrime by the sheer tonnage of #Waste that is being generated by Apple!
Anything else is undue #Leniency against any #GAFAMs that build #unrepairable #electronics!

@dw_innovation and that's also added by #AntiRepairDesign by all the #GAFAMs that do imacceptable stuff like #SolderedDownStorage, #SolderedDownRAM, #GluedInBatteries and #RivetedKeyboards that have no reason to exist except fleecing customers by overcharging them for more #Szorage & #RAM as well as enshuring #Repairability is twarted below cost-effective.
- #RightToRepair must not only be enacted as a hard #law with severe penalties and wide-ranging demands for companies, but also must #AntiRepair-#Design be outlawed.
And don't even get me started on #MamfacturedEwaste like #AI #Chips and #ASIC|s for #Shitcoins like #Bitcoin which are inherently #unsustainable and unlike #CPU|s, #GPU|s and other #UsedHardware not really #refurbishable and #recycle-able or even #upcycle-able beyond being "the most complex, noisy and inefficient space heaters possible"...

IMHO, #GluedInBattieries that are not #ToolfreeSwappable, #SolderedDownRAM & #SolderedDownFlash should be outlawed.
There's no legitimate reason to put #design and #AntiRepair before #Repairability - certainly not with #consumer hardware that isn't #ATEX-certified nor expected to retain water-tightness at 50m depth after being shot at with a .357 Maximum...
