Another morning looking at #motability scheme cars.

We've got a shortlist of two now which we'll arrange to take for a drive in a week or two.
Ford Capri (the badly named car) and Hyundai Ioniq 5 are the choice.
#Ford is an American owned company so loses points, #Hyundai seem to have long waiting times for delivery so lose points.

Ford and #Skoda dealers in #Leicester score zero for their parking arrangements - and for dumping cars in the disabled spaces.

Tomorrow is March.
Sacha has a #motability car lease which means that we have to change our car every three years - which is a mixed blessing.
There's a window between when she *can* order a new car and when she *must* have ordered one. That window opens at the end of March.

Advice we're seeing from other Motability customers is that we need to have made our choice as soon as possible before the window opens - partly because of some extremely long delivery times.
Of course, the complication is that the list of available cars changes at the start of April!

We've started looking at EVs and are currently smitten with the Hyundai Ioniq5, but we are going to look at the Skoda Enyaq and the badly named Ford Capri in the next couple of weeks.

Wir haben eindeutig einen #MaximaleventualbedarfsPKW. Ein #Kombi mit #Anhängerkupplung.

#Sofa, #Schränke, #Urlaub mit Kind und #Hund, 3m lange Rohre … erprobt.

Im #Alltag natürlich nur für 1,x #Personen genutzt, also völlig #überdimensioniert. Wobei … bei der immer mehr zunehmenden Aggression im #Straßenverkehr ist es angenehm eine #KnautschZone um sich herum zu haben.

Ich vermisse manchmal die Zeit mit #CarSharing - je nach Zweck das passende #Auto und spontaner Wechsel, wenn man es bei #Ikea mal wieder übertrieben hat.

Ach so, bevor jetzt alle eine falsche Vorstellung haben, es ist (nur) ein #Skoda #Fabia.

At the end of October last year, my partner got an #ElectricCar - and a nice one at that. We're a two-car household and live in our own flat in a small development with a 'private’ car park.

Now, there's no way to charge at home - we're too far from the car park to be able to link a cable, and the management company have so far refused to put in any charging points.

However, there are quite a few charging points nearby, and as we both work from home, it's quite nice to take some time out to go and charge the car - well, he does, anyway.

I've been noticing with my petrol car more and more fumes coming from it. I've only had it a year and a half, but I'm seriously considering swapping for an #EV. I drive fairly often to my mum, who is about 80 miles away (each way) and so I'm considering a long-range EV. My partner’s car has a max range of about 160 miles. Thinking about the #Kia #ENiro, #Skoda #EnYaq or #Hyundai #Kona. When I’m with my mum, it needs to be high enough for her to get in and to fit the foldable wheelchair in the boot - would prefer not to have to put the seats down.
