**Profiling misinformation susceptibility**

"Personality Profiles of 263 Occupations"

"While personality trait assessments are widely used in candidate selection, coaching, and occupational counseling, little published research has systematically compared occupations in personality traits. Using a comprehensive personality assessment, we mapped 263 occupations in self-reported Big Five domains and various personality nuances in a sample of 68,540 individuals ... "

Just using the term "greed" could be misleadingly overly simplified. Plus, "greedy" is often used to unfairly criticise people that are over weight, for example (e.g., in a society in which the food industry sells unhealthy food products using advertising)

Google DocsARP 2025 Preconference Submission Form: "Developmental and Social Contexts of Relationships"The ARP Program Committee is hosting the 9th Biennial Meeting of the Association for Research in Personality including a full day preconference! Details about the meeting can be found at: http://www.personality-arp.org/conference/. Time and Date: Thursday, June 26th, 2025; 8:00am – 4:00pm We cordially invite researchers interested in advancing contextualized psychology of personality and close relationships to the Developmental and Social Contexts of Relationships Preconference. The meeting will take place on the first day of the conference for the Association for Research in Personality, on Thursday, June 26th. This preconference is organized around the goal of bringing scholars together to share, discuss, and foster research on personality and relationships (including but not limited to romantic partners, families, friends, peers, and close others) from approaches that emphasize developmental contexts (e.g., age, relationship stage, historical time, stability and change) and/or social contexts (e.g., identity; cultural factors; other social structural factors) using quantitative, qualitative, or diverse methods. Call For Submissions Mini Keynote Talks We are excited to accept submissions (self-nominated or nominations of others with their approval) for mini keynote talks from emerging or early career scholars (have earned Ph.D. or have defended their doctoral thesis) who feel their work and expertise would bring valuable input to the topics outlined above. The scope of these talks should highlight the individual’s personal research and also provide an expanded perspective on current approaches and state of the art innovative strategies for integrating important developmental and social contexts into personality and relationships research. There are three slots available for a mini keynote session related to the themes of the preconference (Developmental Contexts and Social Contexts). Each speaker will have 15 minutes to present followed by 5 minutes of Q&A. These talks should address one of the following topics: time and development as relational contexts; identities and characteristics as relational contexts; or structural, political, and cultural factors as relational contexts. Second, there is one slot for an extended, in-depth presentation (30 minutes). This session is intended to highlight a scholar who can speak to conducting culturally-informed relationship research using “big data.” We encourage submissions from individuals who can address how to engage in sensitive and impactful personality science with participants from rich, diverse demographics and/or marginalized identities when working within big data. Data Blitz Presenters We invite submissions from researchers at all career stages – especially students and early career scholars – to share a short (7- minute) presentation. Each theme (Developmental Contexts and Social Contexts) will include a series of data and results-focused talks by individual presenters, followed by a moderated discussion of all session presentations. We encourage applications to recommend a discussant to moderate their data blitz session in their submission forms. The data blitz sessions are intended to maximize conversation between the speakers and the audience, and to minimize introductory and discussion slides within each talk. Preconference organizers will provide accepted applicants with presentation guidelines. Submission Deadline The deadline for all abstract submissions is extended to April 20th, 2025. Notification of Decisions We anticipate sending out notifications of submission decisions no later than May 1st, 2025. Submission Guidelines The detailed Submission Guidelines can be found at: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Yx9fRMn-zTQb7WQ34oDqOX8R2S9dS5Xz/view?usp=sharing. We look forward to seeing you in Evanston! SketchplanationsEveryone's a Geek About Something — Revised and ExpandedAre you passionate about something? Do you know something inside out where others barely give it a glance? As a schoolboy, I thought I was into birds—until my dad and I stayed with some family friends who were truly into birding. They had a powerful telescope trained on the birds at the feeder in their garden. They had crystal-clear binoculars we used on a bird walk, which showed me birds clearer and closer than I'd ever seen. They knew what birds to look for and had tape recordings of specific bird calls that brought them to nearby bushes. They talked us through trips they'd been around the world to spot rare and remarkable birds. Spending time with them changed how I saw birds forever. It was impossible to be around them and not start to love birds. There are classic disciplines for geekiness: science, maths, computers, birdwatching, plane spotting, model trains. But over the years, I've seen people geek out about so much more: gardening, plants, pottery, DJ'ing, Pokemon, sport, skiing, cycling, endurance, beekeeping, writing, business, spreadsheets, coding, magic tricks, sailing, a musical instrument, nightclubs, restaurants, personal development, gaming, crypto, cooking, travel, film, thrillers, local history, deals, football boots, coaching, shopping, clothes, cars, building, cameras, art, museums, relationships, pets, insects, decorating, and on and on. If you don't pay close attention to Premier League football is boring, but if you follow every detail, it can be engrossing. I didn't think much of textiles, but I found it fascinating after spending an afternoon weaving in Laos. One of the 5 Ways to Wellbeing is Take Notice. Being a geek is noticing everything about something. It can also Connect you with others and keep you Learning—two more of the five. The word geek derives from a word meaning fool or freak as if it's foolish to devote so much attention and time to one area. But the truth is, as the physicist Richard Feynman says: "Nearly everything is really interesting if you go into it deeply enough." And the writer Henry Miller wrote: "The moment one gives close attention to anything, even a blade of grass, it becomes a mysterious, awesome, indescribably magnificent world in itself." Let's embrace our inner geeks. Dive deep into what fascinates you. Try not to dismiss others' passions until you've had a go at getting into depth yourself. Their joy could be just the same that you feel with something else. Everyone's a geek about something. And that's wonderful. This is a revised and expanded version of my original sketch, which had just a few passions. I've thought about it so much since I first heard the phrase—I couldn't remember where—that I thought it needed an update. And we had a blast talking about this on the podcast. When putting together a draft of a Sketchplanations book, this was my first title idea (preview). Dark Triad Personality Traits
#Psychology  #Personality

The dark triad personality refers to three negative personality traits, which all share malevolent features:

Narcissism (entitled self-importance)

Machiavellianism (strategic exploitation and deceit)

Subclinical psychopathy (callousness and cynicism) simplypsychology.org/dark-tria

In my view, President #Putin & #Trump clearly display the Dark Triad of Personality. And that's why they can manipulate (ignorant) folk

Simply PsychologyDark Triad Personality TraitsThe Dark Triad refers to three interconnected personality traits - narcissism, Machiavellianism, and psychopathy - that are characterized by callous manipulation, selfishness, and ruthlessness. Individuals with dark triad traits are motivated by their own gain with little regard for others.

A "sociopath" or "tyrant" describes a persons general behaviour (differences in human behaviour) For example, a person that is more disagreeable, is more prone to anger. These, more or less descriptors, are comparisons.

Sociopaths have the dark triad of personality traits. Colloquially, they're more nasty, "charming" but manipulative, cruel, etc.

Who has the leadership role is often due to their personality, dominance for example, NOT specifically their level of intelligence. However, these more dominant types, believe it's because of their higher levels of intelligence (even when evidence suggests otherwise. AKA #narcissism)
