My work makes us take fire prevention training…I always learn something new:

- “Flash over” crazy to witness via video 💥
- synthetic furniture easier 💨 🔥
- kids 💤 through smoke detectors but would wake up to mother’s voice recording
- BBQ should be 3m away from 🏠
- Lithium-ion (Li-ion) 🔋 are super scary!
- Unplug items after charging 💣 !
- these include: laptops, cellphones, power tools, e-bikes, vapes, massagers, vehicles
- do not charge near exits

Checking smoke detectors today and replaced the remaining two that took batteries with new 10yr models. Cracked open the old smoke detector (as one does) to check out components it's interesting to see that instead of using actual switches for test/mute buttons, it's just spring steel poised over a wire on the circuit board. Also this has both an optical particle sensor and an ionization (americium-241) detector. The other detector was only ionization.

13: The choir room is technically a fire hazard because there are too many people.

Me: That's a problem.

13: Yeah, because if one kid catches on fire, the other ones near them will catch on fire...

Me: I don't think that's what--

13: No, I'm pretty sure that's how it works. I saw the COVID video that shows one match being lit and all the matches are in a tight bunch so that match catches the others on fire

Me: I think maybe you got the wrong message from that video.

14: I figured it was a fire hazard because all those people packed together means they'll all get hotter and hotter until they combust.

Watch these companies lie through their teeth. And the employer, of course, later will be firing people if they get sick or cancer from breathing in all of the smoke.
