After doing a dashing stint last night, I believe I can confidently say that the "base pay" (the base cash amount offered to a dasher for a delivery) has risen significantly. The offers for the deliveries definitely seemed richer than normal.
My average this year has been $4.04 per delivery.
Yesterday, on 10 deliveries, I averaged $5.88, my highest ever.
My concern, though, is tips. I only averaged $2.57 last night. My 2024 average is $3.81. So I'll be interested to see if DD has changed their system at all on that or if it's just a bad day.
The number of offers I received didn't seem to change significantly, but it's hard to say after just one night. We'll see how this plays out over the next few weeks and months.

The median comp. pkg for CEOs of cos. in the S&P 500 surged by 12.6% in 2023, reaching $16.3M. This increase exacerbates the existing pay gap b/w CEOs & workers. This increase comes at a time when wages & benefits for private-sector workers rose by 4.1%, exacerbating the pay disparity. At half of the surveyed cos., it'd take a median worker nearly 200 yrs to earn what their CEO makes in a single year.
2019 hatte die ÖVP die Idee im Grazer Gemeinderat der KPÖ noch abgelehnt und als „absurd“ bezeichnet (siehe Screenshot). Nachdem KPÖ, Grüne und SPÖ #FairPay in ihrem Koalitionsabkommen vereinbart haben, ist es auch in der ÖVP zu einem Umdenken gekommen.
