I just got a notification that another #Ente photos customer used my referral code giving us both 10GBs of additional storage for free. Thanks to whoever that was! I've now earned an additional 40 GBs total to my 50GB subscription (for $2.50/mo.)

If you want an #Opensource and #Encrypted alternative to #GooglePhotos and/or you want to import your #Instagram pics, I highly suggest looking into ente.io
You get 5GBs for a free account to at least try it out.
DM me if you want a referral code when you subscribe to a paid plan.

…It was…unclear if #Starlink communications were #encrypted. At a minimum, the system allows for a network separate from existing WH servers that people on the grounds are able to use, keeping that data separate.

“It’s super rare” to install Starlink or another #internet provider as a replacement for existing govt #infrastructure that has been vetted & secured, said Jake Williams, a VP for R&D at Hunter Strategy, a #cybersecurity consultancy. “I can’t think of a time that I have heard of that.”

@lns 99.9% of my email communication is e2e encrypted, I am using #DeltaChat since years, never managed to actually use encrypted email in any other way, ex. why should my mom learn how to use GPG? meanwhile she and several family members that are new to phones are sending #encrypted #email to me every day without even realizing it

#Apple pulls data protection tool instead of caving to #UK demand for a #backdoor

After the #UnitedKingdom demanded that Apple create a backdoor that would allow government officials globally to #spy on #encrypted data, Apple decided to simply turn off #encryption services in the UK rather than risk exposing its customers to snooping.
