Well, that might be debatable, but she's definitely better than #Musk .

and i know that because the first non-#sciencefiction proponent of AI, #alanturing, cited her in his defense of/ argument for AI
#turing framed the foundational thoughts of the entire field of AI, as an argument against ada's thoughts
and she lived many decades before turing!

Today we remember #AdaLovelace Day, famed for her work on #CharlesBabbage's proposed mechanical computer, the #AnalyticalEngine.
In 1843, Lovelace published what would now be recognized as a #computerprogram to generate Bernoulli numbers and was the first to see the creative potential of Babbage's machine.
As for the day honoring Lovelace, its goal is to increase the profile of women in STEM and encourage more girls into #STEM careers.

Ada was extraordinary, the people around her clearly thought so.
So much so they put time to correspond with her, to talk her up to others.
Like do you really imagine Charles Babbage claiming she did his work?
Or the other men in that space?
Dude that's your sexism talking.
We all build off, and are inspired by each other.
But if you're used to seeing our spaces as a competition to prove who's technically the best, I suggest you open up your viewpoint beyond code.

Apparently its #AdaLovelaceDay and so I will share a truly bizarre story. My partner worked for a while at a Children's #science center, Which only kind of taught kinds science, and most people viewed it as a place to dump their kids in spit of that being prohibited. It didn't stop them from trying or ignoring their kids while they were there.
Anyway, It was Halloween and staff were allowed to dress up like their favorite scientist. She decided to go as #AdaLovelace . Her boss asked her who she was supposed to be and she told him. His response in horror was "the porn star???". A) I feel like I need to look up the porn of this person especially if she dressed like that(pretty sure he was confusing her with another porn star), and B)Its really nice to learn what your coworkers think of you that you are the kind of person to dress up like a porn star around small children.
