When someone has an image attached in their email signature, does a copy of that get saved on every email server for every email they send?

Also, you cannot search for info in that image. So it takes space + it isn't accessible. All in the sake of... can someone remind me? ;DDD

@ntnsndr Generally yes for attached images (vs HTML tag to remote server, which email service may cache but isn't obliged to) although larger org email servers are more likely than most services to have at least some simple deduplication of attachments, since "document to list of people" is such a common thing.
@ntnsndr it can be attached image, it can be a linked image, it can be a base64 inlined images. all suck
