#Oxford - the Cancer Research UK shop in #Headington (on the left heading out of town) has some very beautiful electric #guitars in the window today (and there were different ones last week, they seem to have found a good supply of these). I was almost tempted. The #violins they have are no use, though. A full sized lark and a child sized skylark, both lacking strings.

#TIL that in the #Baroque period musicians used smaller #violins for higher notes -like recorder consorts - as higher positions weren't part of the normal playing practice yet. In 1756, Leopold Mozart notes that these small violins have become obsolete, due to progress in #violin technique, and may be used for children to learn. (Not too much)
I've been looking forward to going on a local holiday, off grid, no running water. Owls, it's so quiet you can hear the flutter of bat wings etc etc.
Unfortunately I got this massive headcold, which forces me to rest.
As the holiday place is quite humid and temperatures fluctuate seriously, this is too much for me to handle. So I'm still in the city on the sofa, partner & son have left.
Luckily I have a great list of podcasts to listen to (The Experiment! Ear Hustle! Onbehaarde apen!)
And a little old dog to mend, toy from father to son. I'll darn with contrasting colours.
Gallons and liters of herbal tea. Comfy enclined. Blanket. Snoopy. Loads of colours.
