Greetings Elmers! Seeking advice on buck converters.
I ordered a QRP Labs QMX. For this model, they are extremely specific that it must not be powered by more than 12V. This means a LiFePo4 battery is out. Unless of course I put a buck converter inline to ensure only 12V goes to the QMX. Since it's a QRP radio, it consumes roughly 1A max current.
Any advice on what buck converter options make the most sense here?

so, a few months ago I got an email from the local ARRL Bureau for QSL cards, and they said I had some waiting, so I sent them the $3 and waited... lol
I just got the mail today, and oh my gosh, there has to be 30 to 40 QSL cards for the past 5 years here! this is going to take some time to catch up on,
I know it's hard for you youngins to believe, but radios didn't always have USB ports!
Digirig et al gives you an easy way to get audio to/from your compute platform to/from your xcvr. And often PTT as well.
Finally got around to watching this. Must remember to devote TWO HOURS to this podcast more often!
If you are in the central Ohio region and don't have a ham radio (yet), you can listen to COWSN (Central Ohio Severe Weather Network) when they activate their severe weather nets, here:
speaking of giveaways/raffles/drawings/etc.
if you live in #Ohio there is an ARRL Handbook giveaway you can enter for free,

And they do this every month!
The Alliance Amateur Radio Club (W8LKY) in northeast Ohio is having a raffle for an HF radio:
Kenwood TS-590SG
You don't have to be present to win, and they'll ship it across the U.S. if you win
https://www.w8lky.org/fundraisers/hf_rig_raffle/
I might be entering, hehe
Welcome back to the air!
Oh my gosh, my generous Elmer came out to my place to fix my VHF (some wire splicing etc, he's got all the good equipment) and he also helped me get my HF hooked back up after a year and a half of not using it due to space considerations. On the Aurora net this afternoon, they heard me! All is well in radio land.
