Good morning Mastodonians! It's overcast, not as chilly as yesterday,, trees are blooming (achoo), I have numbers to crunch and books to balance, but at least I'm being taken out to lunch today, as part of a meeting about the upcoming Roadeo. (That really is eating up my bandwidth lately...) Listening to some lively Irish music to get myself going.

Good morning everyone, we've reached Hump Day. I'm in a considerable amount of pain after doing battle with the invasive vines. I'm not sure if it's from the pulling or the damn weight of the logging chain I'm using. It's overkill but I prefer everything to be safe. I got 4 vines down so I considered it a draw. There's quite a few more. Tonight I might install the wax foundations in my beehive frames, if my hands cooperate.

Oh, MDMRNia (13) has decided she's going to make herself some chainmail out of soda can tops. So, we'll see how that goes. I've been saving them for her off my energy drinks.
Also, the MDMRN Twins are having a field trip to visit the Middle School. They'll be middle schoolers in the fall. The passing of time is a bitch.

Was ist denn mit nachträglicher Systempartitionsverschlüsselung? Für Leute, die nicht neu installieren wollen?
Meine eigene Erfahrung mit Systemverschlüsselung sind durchwachsen.
Im Dualboot hatte ich eine Festplatte mit Bitfehler. Windows lief, Linux hat beim booten die Platte immer nur zu 50% erkannt. Damit war die Partition und alle unsynchronisierte Arbeit weg.
Der harte Weg war Plattentausch und alles neu aufsetzen. Weiteres Problem, Umzug von BIOS auf UEFI bzw MBR zu GPT hieß, Veracrypt erkennt das Laufwerk nicht mehr.
Das war auch bei den ext Festplatten, die unter Windows erstellt wurden.
Gibt es dafür Workarounds?
Es läuft jetzt alles, weil ich dahingehend unnachgiebiger Mensch bin, der der Unlösung das nicht gönnt. 
Aber kompatibel war da nix. Und bei Datensicherungsmigration braucht man zusätzlich eine weitere Sicherung.

Gerade bei mobilen IT-Geräten wie Laptops, Smartphones oder Tablets werden viele persönliche Daten durch die Gegend getragen. Um diese zu schützen, solltest du die Geräte verschlüsseln. Zum Glück musst du dafür heute nicht mehr manuell mit kryptografischen Befehlen hantieren. Android und iOS verschlüsseln Smartphones und Tablets automatisch. Selbst Laptops sind inzwischen meistens mit Windows BitLocker oder Apples FileVault verschlüsselt. Falls deine Version von Windows kein BitLocker unterstützt oder du ein externes Laufwerk so verschlüsseln möchtest, dass du es auch unter MacOS oder Linux entschlüsseln kannst, kannst du VeraCrypt einsetzen. VeraCrypt ist ein OpenSource Tool, dass sich auf die Verschlüsselung von Partitionen konzentriert.
Nimm den heutigen Tag als Anlass und verschlüssele deine Daten.

Your friendly Upstairs Ninja here again, waking up and getting ready to work. My Ninja talents are now so good that I never hear a peep from the parrots downstairs as I creep around the place, either that or Ziggy just couldn't be bothered to raise a ruckus since she's full after her breakfast
It's been really helpful to have a chance to sleep longer this week. I can definitely feel my energy levels improving daily and will hopefully be back to as normal as I can be soon. I've had a lot of strange dreams though
