Hahaha, Mercury News (no link, fuck em) covered the Tesla Takedown protests today by asking for comments from…the president of Silicon Valley Association of Conservative Republicans, whose pearl of wisdom was that the “far-left” AOC will “destroy” the Democratic party. What the fuck.

This was found at the bottom of the article that discusses how the US Military is purging images of Enola Gay (the aircraft) thanks to Anti-DEI sweeps. How this article is “unfair left leaning” outside of making Trumpers look bad is beyond me, but there you go.
EDIT: I was mistaken: the gauge as shown is in the “default” position before you make a selection. That…is TERRIBLE UX. The point stands though: this is automated both-sidesism, especially if the score is tied to each journalist’s compensation and promotion prospects. This is not a good idea.

In the latest episode of The Urbanist Agenda, guest Ellory Smith argues, "infrastructure is apolitical…because…it benefits everybody."
Unfortunately, this is projection, and the most insidious form of both-sides-ing: the unknowing kind.
Ellory is assuming that no one could possibly be so brazenly evil as to disagree with this goal, but they do. They really, really do. 
In reality, the fact that infrastructure helps everyone is precisely what makes it directly political, because helping everyone is a Left-wing value. It is diametrically opposed to the Right-wing value of leveraging one's advantages over other people into successively greater advantages.
And for those of you who are new to this: yes, this does in fact mean that the Left side of the political spectrum is the only side that is even remotely morally defensible. 
If a supposed Right-winger seems to want to help everyone, then there are three possibilities. The most likely is that your definition of, "everyone," excludes the people they're screwing over. The second-most likely is that they're just lying. The last option is that their personal politics are incoherent, probably because they don't know what "Left" and "Right" actually mean.

If the #USA's vaunted free press was doing its job, it would be asking blunt, pointed questions of these wannabe-dictators, like "Why are you claiming the right to revoke a non-existent license from a television network?" or "Why are you threatening internet sites with Section 230 when the legislation and the courts agree you have no role in it?"

Last night they answered the question: "Will T****'s #tariffs cost you more money?"
Instead of a wishy-washy "maybe", they gave an actual YES (though they DID try to #BothSides it at the end.)
They failed to mention though that if #Import #prices go up, DOMESTIC prices will rise to match (just shy of the import price.)

I noted for the first time this morning that the pusllanimous media have started using "vaccine sceptic" instead of more accurate terms such as "science denier" or "malignant fool".
