Last night I finished my first (and probably only) read for the #TransRightsReadathon. 4 out of 5 stars on Goodreads for The Four Profound Weaves by R.B. Lemberg:

I've finished and reviewed my fourth book for the #TransRightsReadathon
"The Final Strife" - The Ending Fire Trilogy No. 1
by Saara El-Arifi

Finished reading The Sunbearer Trials and I really liked it! I haven't read YA in ages, but this was a good one. I liked teens behaving like actual teens, I liked that the MC was not a brooding loner but a likable guy with friends, and I absolutely adored all the detail and fun references that went into the world building. It is a colorful, exciting, likable book.
... that ends on a cliffhanger so now I gotta read the next one
#TransRightsReadathon #7 My favorite so far, The Prospects by K.T. Hoffman.
One of the best sports romances I've ever read; the passion for baseball is as vital as the romantic passion. Gene, a young trans man, has trained himself to be happy that he made it into the minors and not to dream of more. But when he starts to fall for a new colleague, he begins to wonder if it's okay to let himself want. Enjoyable quirky prose and good disability rep too.
I finished Lakelore by Anna-Marie McLemore for the #TransRightsReadathon. I loved it. I cried. I texted myself quotes. I had to pause and stare into the distance. I cried more. I texted friends. This was so good. I talk too much about Amanda in this video, Lore and Bastian are the real heart of the story, but I was really moved by the Amanda storyline and Lore being treated with care, naming injustice. Here's the video - https://videos.tiffanysostar.com/w/aiSST4Ed2McCsfdREWYaz3
I finished my second book for the #TransRightsReadathon. The Sapling Cage by Margaret Killjoy, narrated by Jackie Meloche, was my pick for trans fem representation, and I loved it. Here's my little review (plus some bird sounds from the Adelaide Botanic Gardens). https://videos.tiffanysostar.com/w/qiXUSUt46UfpXkF2YQeFBX
I’m reading Lakelore by Anna-Marie McLemore for the #TransRightsReadathon and although I know I’m more emotional than usual for a lot of reasons… damn. This book has made me cry like five times. It’s so beautiful and gentle and profound and funny and wholesome. I love it so much.
#TransRightsReadathon #6 A Quick & Easy Guide to Sex & Disability. (genderqueer author.)
A cartoon guide wonderfully illustrated with diverse bodies and many types of disabilities. Primarily focuses on physical issues, but the advice applies generally.
I've finished and reviewed my third book for the #TransRightsReadathon!
"The Tensorate Series" by Neon Yang - for novellas of varying lengths in one book.
https://stardustrohrig.com/2025/03/27/the-tensorate-series-review/
My new book is out! Fractured Night, the third book in the Revenant Records series. A slow burn supernatural thriller with diverse characters (including trans if you're doing the #transrightsreadathon

... before she finally decides to *try* to stop misgendering/dead-naming her son. I was amused that when she finally tells her parents, they're completely fine with it, as are her younger children. (Mirrors my own experience -- the old and the young were the chillest.) She does become an ally eventually.
There's some lovely artwork and the book makes a strong case for "don't be your child's first bully" but it was somewhat painful to read.
#TransRightsReadathon #5 transitions by Elodie Durand. (English translation, by a non-binary translator.) A graphic novel based on a true story of a mother coming to accept her transgender child, interposed with vignettes on gender diversity in history and biology. Includes an ending written by her son.
Honestly, this was a rough read. As a mom, I get having feelings about a child's transition, but she's so resistant for so long, risking total estrangement...

I'm not doing this like I'm supposed to. I haven't registered or anything, and I've only managed 1 book so far. this event is far too short! I am slow.
I've read "Confessions of the Fox" by Jordy Rosenberg (I picked it from @jaelisp recs, thank you Jaelyn)
it was hilarious and raw. I loved it.
don't be a thumb and listen to trans voices.

hello, just reminding you my books exist for #TransRightsReadathon - and if you're feeling helpless in the current political situation, that they have clear, easy suggestions for actions to support trans people at https://transrightsreadathon.carrd.co/#actions
Also wanted an excuse to shoutout some of the MANY trans books I just really enjoyed and tore through recently #QueerBooks #BookRecs
#TransRightsReadathon #4 Us by Sara Soler. (English translation.) Romantic me, I love true stories about couples who stay together after one of them transitions. A super cute graphica memoir, which has fun with the comic format. The author/artist is cis, but her girlfriend also contributes her point of view. Would make a great starter book for someone trying to understand a loved one's trans identity.
Grease Bats by Archie Bongiovanni. Comic strip collection about a twenty-something friend group trying to live their best queer lives despite politics, brokeness, terrible decision making, and imposter syndrome.
I like the style of several short , punchy strips that are part of a longer story. The art is, probably deliberately, kind of messy.
It hurts that the political content is still/again relevant, but this is mostly a joy to read.
Finished "The Membranes" by Chi Ta-Wei.
This might count to #TransRightsReadathon, but I'm not sure as this is a peculiar short story.
It's a dystopian novel set in the near future where everything else has become unhabitable for humans, except the oceans where people now live.
But that's only the world-building. The story itself does have strong queer, trans, gender & identity themes.
In 1995 this was the first book in Chinese to contain LGBT+ themes.
Recommended!
I've finished the first of my reads for the #TransRightsReadathon. I read Second Chances in New Port Stephen by TJ Alexander for trans masc rep. I really enjoyed it! This is a pretty short review and I could have said a bunch more, but that's okay. If I scripted these videos I would never actually post any of them, and they would all be way too long, sooooooo... it is what it is. https://videos.tiffanysostar.com/w/1diuAkjiD4wmCUKPnZbMDY
