Low-tech resourcefulness:

In high school, I had a bedside clock radio with a cassette deck. I used to tune into the college radio station and record my favorite tunes. That is how I used to hear Planet Claire by the B-52s on demand.

A friend of mine who lived in Memphis recounted how she would hold her landline phone up to the radio during certain college radio shows so her sister in Little Rock, Arkansas could listen.

Where there is a will, there is a way.

Lately, Dinosaur Jr.'s 1994 track "Feel the Pain" keeps popping into my head as I read the news.

"I feel the pain of everyone
Then, I feel nothing
I feel the pain of everyone
Then, I feel nothing

Is it up to me?
You won't wait to see
Screwed us both again
About as close as you dare

Hey now, take it back
Get off the attack
Trailin' on your scene
Just try and keep it clean"

"Roll Over Beethoven" is a 1956 song written by #ChuckBerry, originally released on #ChessRecords, with "Drifting Heart" as the #Bside. The lyrics of the song mention #rockAndRoll and the desire for #rhythmAndBlues to be as respected as #classicalMusic. The song has been #covered by many other artists, including the #RollingStones and #theBeatles (both in 1963). Rolling Stone magazine ranked it number 97 on its 2004 list of the "500 Greatest Songs of All Time".
