A while back I had a big Swoon phase. This album completely baffled me - and still does! - because the song structures are so vastly different from all that I knew. While it's defined as #sophistipop, it is significantly more acoustic and shows some #janglepop elements. Their later album Steve McQueen doesn't quite have the same feel, I still have to understand that one. But today it's time to relive the Swoon phase!

Today's random #Discogs choice Prefab Sprout and I Trawl The Megahertz 2019. This is a change from the normal style from the band, more contemporary classical. Only one track has Paddy singing on it. It's beautiful.

I've listened to 'Cars and Girls' by #PrefabSprout three times so far today. That's probably enough for now…

I took a random bus, got off when I saw a river on the map, walked along the river for a bit. Saw a highly rated cafe on the map, so wandered in that direction.

Now awaiting my coffee and sandwich.

The stereo is playing an acoustic version of #PrefabSprout's "Desire As." I'm so confused and charmed.

Exposed for about a week in late summer.

I used a custom-made contact frame of 70 x 50 cm to hold everything in place for so long.

Even after a week, some leaves have let no UV light through.

Absence Makes The Heart Lose Weight (Yeah).

One of the first cyanotypes where I realized I could get colours other than blue, without toning, bleaching or other post-processing.

This is a big leaf, I forget the plant name now. The image is about 60 cm tall.

It's named after a Prefab Sprout lyric, from When Love Breaks Down.

During exposure, the leaf loses water and shrinks a little, seen this best at the edges.
