I've gotta say... I'm pretty happy with these #HarborFreight #Bauer modular toolboxes I picked up today. I've got about 80% of my tools in them now. This is heaps better than my old Rubbermaid totes that I'm amazed I never got a hernia lifting. I can lift each of these individually and they're all an acceptable weight.

The plan is to take them with me in my #Toyota #Tacoma #Truck when I'm going somewhere a bit more spicy than the mall.

I ordered several more because the local store is out.

I'm thinking more about #ToolStorage today. I've got a lot of tools that I like to take with me when 4x4ing in my #Tacoma. In the past I used tool rolls but they kinda suck for day-to-day use. There's a sale at #HarborFreight on a rolling tool cart meant for the garage but then I wouldn't have my tools with me in the truck.

The PackOut-style systems are interesting but how do I actually hold tools in them without them being a jumbled mess? And so they don't rattle constantly?

Okay, I need to find whoever decided that bolts for this trailer's hitch plate should have a 16mm head, and a 17mm NUT on the bottom (you know, ehre it's hard to see). Took me 15 minutes to realize the sizes were different. Fortunately, got everything loose, but sheesh Harbor Freight Or Whomever, that was irritating.

I never really shopped at #HarborFreight before even though there’s one not too far from me, but since going there recently I’ve been quite interested to see what they have in stock and on sale. They have random shrapnel like LED flashlights, shop towels, flathead screwdrivers, tape measures and AA batteries for super cheap, like 99c. I’m absolutely NOT a handyman but some of this shit is making my wallet get a weird semi-on. harborfreight.com/coupons#Deal

So, I bought this magnetic cup holder on sale at Harbor freight Tools the other day. It's a metal cup-holder with powerful magnets on the back so you can stick it to a metal workbench, toolbox, shelf, or other. Simple right. But the box it came in has this dire looking list of warnings, starting out with, "1. Wear ANSI approved safety goggles during use."

I just paid $69 to have #HeroHomeServices stop by to give me an estimate.

I already have everything installed. It ONLY needs vacuum test, if that passes, pressure test, if that passes, open the valves to let the refrigerant flow.

Takes about 20 minutes, if all goes per normal.

TWO THOUSAND THREE HUNDRED DOLLARS.

Yeah, F that. I guess I'm buying a couple tools at #HarborFreight which I'll only use once; & you thought single-use plastic packaging was wasteful.

So I finally bought a #HeatPump for the back yard shed. It’s a little one - the space is pretty small. I wanted to do this years ago, but the industry dragged its damned feet catching up with the science.

Intent is to DIY it. But the instructions say I need some tools I don’t have. #ManifoldGauge set & #VacuumPump

Maybe I’ll DIY all but the final steps, then hire that last bit.

Or maybe the cheapest #HarborFreight set will be cheaper than the labor cost.

What did you do on yours, Fedi-folk?

@GottaLaff I was going to buy this tiny #knife that #harborfreight calls a machete. But then they told me they had a bigger one. So I bought the bigger one. It's still not big enough but whatever. I got my trees processed in time for the cold weather and such.

Meanwhile another person did end up buying the tiny one for their fun and games until someone got hurt 🤕. I also bought a big axe and a little axe cuz I don't want some crazy guy with a little axe out there causing trouble.
