The AYANEO Pocket Micro (Classic), I've been talking about. Arrived this week, and I gotta admit... this is top-tier product design and build quality. Review on @overkillwtf soon!

By the way, I’ve fallen headfirst into the retro gaming rabbit hole thanks to the AYANEO Pocket Micro. Bought an Anbernic RG35XX H a day later and spent yesterday's whole evening with @retrogamecorps's shader guide. What have I done?

A very deep dive into this notable piece of computing (and gaming) history.
The second official SteamOS device got a bit more expensive.
Lenovo Legion Go S with SteamOS will land May 25 for $50 more than expected
@blakespot I have a couple of those from back when they were current.
They were generally known for emulation, but they had great native software as well.
Sadly, it''s one of very few platforms that as far as I know, has never been emulated in software or
reproduced in FPGA.
Tell us how you really feel!

Quake ported to Arduino Nano Matter. [Using only 276kb RAM]
Nicola Wrachien with Silicon Labs created this fun handheld, porting Quake using the Arduino Nano Matter. For easy playing a custom controller shaped board was designed with joysticks and a screen.

This thread is a mixed bag of @playdate news:
The price of the console is going up in future but you can buy refurbished hardware for a discounted price
or grab a console NOW at the existing price
I like my Playdate. It's a very fun handheld console to use and I really admire that @panic ventured into that space.
LegionGo #SteamOS #handhelds are here. It took me several minutes to unpack the Best Buy store to make sense of all the different SKUs so let me share what I found in a hopefully helpful way:
SteamOS Z1E 1TB = $750
Windows Z1E 1TB = $830
SteamOS Z2Go 1TB = $730
Windows Z2Go 1TB = $730
SteamOS Z2Go 512 = $550
Windows Z2Go 512 = $550
So almost all SKUs are the same price (Windows vs. Steam), except the top tier, which has an $80 premium for the Windows version.
They're charging a ~$200 Apple tax for an extra 512GB storage. That's about 8x what that costs off the shelf. Another reminder why I absolutely loathe Apple.
Oh and the old Legion Go w/ Z1E/1TB is $750, also $80 less than the Go S, and represents a much better value. I don't think these are going to do well. Valve needs better partners.

Mecha Comet modular Linux handheld gets pre-launch upgrade, coming to Kickstarter in Q3, 2025
The Mecha Comet is a phone-sized modular computer with a small touchscreen display positioned above a modular input area where you can place a QWERTY keyboard, game pad, or other devices.
After making its debut at CES in January, the Mecha Comet has undergone some changes – in a recent live stream the company announced it would upgrade the processor, display, and ports. That’s the good […]

So i had a bit of bad luck, when i removed my 3ds from my bag a small piece of plastic on the lower right side of the hinge broke off. And I had in a protective case!
I ended using duct tape to keep that piece in place. Its ok, its just supeficial cosmetic damage. And the tape is the same color as the hinge. the rest of the console is fine.
if if becomes too much of an annoyance, i might see if i can find someone to switch the faceplates for me, i found there is at least a store in my town that fixes consoles.
So for now this diy fix will just have to do
