Eid Mubarak, my Muslim friends and family! May it be joyful and the joy carry through the year.

During Ramadan I generally try to keep posts about food and stuff to a minimum, as a courtesy to friends who are fasting. But today is Eid al-Fitr, and friends are coming over and I'm making kibbeh, hummus, barbari pide, tabouli, lebne zatar, stuffed grape leaves, and if I have time, maybe a dessert?
This would be much easier if I had full use of my right hand, but needs must and onwards we forge! I'm really looking forward to dinner.

In Baghdad, the Iraqi Children Foundation run three mobile schools called the Hope Buses.

These deliver tutoring, healthcare and social support to orphans, street kids and displaced children living in disadvantaged neighbourhoods across Baghdad.
