📚️ RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 (RollerCoaster Tycoon® 2: Triple Thrill Pack, aka RCT2) is a construction and management simulation game that simulates the management of an amusement park. The player must try to make profits and maintain the good reputation of the park, while keeping its customers satisfied. OpenRCT2 is a free, multi-platform project that brings new features, including an engine compatible with a more powerful AI and a cooperative multiplayer mode, a new interface, editing tools, scenario and Sandbox modes.

🕶️ A view of its UI (v. RA 0.24, on my Linux PC) with the extension “Cleopatra: Queen of the Nile” extension. I built a few huts, buildings, paths and water points, which brought in the population. A few ostriches are feeding here and there.

📚️ Pharaoh (with Akhenaten engine) is a city-builder management game developed by Impressions Games and published by Sierra in 1999. It takes the game system of the Caesar III series and transposes it to the construction of an ancient Egyptian city. It benefits from an expansion, Cleopatra: Queen of the Nile, published in 2000. The player administers a plot of land in Ancient Egypt, building a city and developing trade with the aim of turning it into a flourishing Pharaonic (and Predynastic) city. Akhenaten is a libre, multiplatform compatible engine (derived from the Julius/Augustus projects for Caesar 3), making the game multiplatform and adapted to modern hardware. A job well done!

📚️ LinCity-NG is an improvement on Lincity, and a libre, multi-platform socio-economic simulation inspired by Simcity, whose objective is to create and develop a city. The player is the mayor of a city, and leads its expansion within budgetary, population growth, pollution and transportation constraints. He takes into account ecology, goods (availability and production), raw materials (ore, steel, coal), energy (electricity, coal with finite resources, solar and wind energy), water, services (education, health, fire-fighting, leisure). The ultimate goal is to establish a sustainable economy, or to evacuate its citizens by spaceship.
