📚️ A libre and multi-platform engine & development environment for 2.5D Action-RPG games (not limited to Zelda games). The engine supports heavy computations and low-level operations, so the developer can focus on the logic of the game, based on Lua scripts. 📚️ ZQuest Classic is a libre, multi-platform, mature action-RPG engine, that comes with a clone of the NES version of The Legend of Zelda (1986, Nintendo). It lets you play numerous games (700 quests as of June 2023, mostly Zelda-like) designed by the community, and easily develop them thanks to its comprehensive, intuitive editor, which requires no programming (apart from the optional scripting language for extended functions), and also delivers data sets (traditional/improved). The project has brought together a community that has developed significant content, and its development is sustained.

The period is medieval, several Mongol units & a trebuchet surround a castle in the center. 📚️ UnCiv is a ~ libre (icons & sounds not all libre), multi-platform, single-player / multi-player (by exchange of "User ID"), turn-based strategy game (4X) & Empire building, inspired by Civilization V: the game starts in 4000 BC Christ, the player directs a nation or an ethnic group, with the aim of supremacy over the other protagonists, leading his group until 2050 AD. It's a neat game that offers in-game help to get started, solo/multiplayer, map editor and game save / load. Very good !

📚️ Pharaoh (with Akhenaten engine) is a city-builder management game developed by Impressions Games and published by Sierra in 1999. It takes the game system of the Caesar III series and transposes it to the construction of an ancient Egyptian city. It benefits from an expansion, Cleopatra: Queen of the Nile, published in 2000. The player administers a plot of land in Ancient Egypt, building a city and developing trade with the aim of turning it into a flourishing Pharaonic (and Predynastic) city. Akhenaten is a libre, multiplatform compatible engine (derived from the Julius/Augustus projects for Caesar 3), making the game multiplatform and adapted to modern hardware. A job well done!

📚️ Godot Engine is a high-performance, libre (very permissive MIT license, no hidden fees), multi-platform 2D and 3D game engine and IDE, extremely feature-rich with a vast set of tools, enabling the developer to create his multi-platform game from scratch without requiring any external tools other than the usual content creation tools (graphics and sound; it includes a tile map editor), and to concentrate on his game without having to reinvent the wheel. It also features an intuitive scripting language (GDScript, inspired by Python and other languages) and can be used with most programming languages.

📚️ Zandronum (contraction of ZDoom, Andromeda and Infernum, ex Skulltag!) is a libre, multi-platform Doom 1 and 2 engine, geared towards multiplayer gaming (up to 64 players). It offers a wide range of game modes and modifiers (Instagib, Buckshot, ...), and is compatible with Heretic, Hexen & Strife games, as well as with the many GZDoom mods and Skulltag mods from which it originates. It supports skins and the Announcer system (an on-screen / in-game announcement / reward system based on player performance), Runes, new weapons and monsters, custom bots, ...
