#GDL - a #union in #Germany recently managed to secure a 35-hour workweek, to be reached in several stages by 2029.

Driven by the "urgent need to attract more workers", this is an important step toward a 4-day work week, with no reduction in pay. Remember, not so long ago the billionaires claimed that a 40 hour workweek would ruin the #economy. It didn't happen then, it won't happen now.

That's a central element in the deal reached Monday between state-owned operator Deutsche Bahn and the GDL union after five months of negotiations punctuated by strikes. The two sides gave details of their deal to end the most disruptive of several pay disputes in the German transport sector that have coincided recently.
