I'm back on @EvolutionGnome after being a longtime @thunderbird devotee (and funder). Although I appreciate the new efforts at TB, it has unfortunately become unusable for daily driving for me:
- MS calendars don't work with new MS support: https://www.reddit.com/r/Thunderbird/comments/1e4vgoy/should_i_use_owl_or_native_exchange_support_if_i/
- OWL plugin doesn't really work either: https://www.reddit.com/r/Thunderbird/comments/1bv4rxy/best_practices_for_calendars_on_thunderbird_and/
- Theme breakage: https://www.reddit.com/r/pop_os/comments/1eipgq5/
Thanks to the Evolution team for making an essential tool that just works.
@ntnsndr @EvolutionGnome @thunderbird I’m oscillating between the two as well, for same reasons. May yet use one for one set of accounts and the other for another set but unsure.
@cyberlyra @EvolutionGnome @thunderbird It is just astonishing to me that in 2024 having a functional OSS multi-account client for email and calendars is something one still struggles to achieve. It seems so 1990s that it is still Microsoft that's hindering us.
