People who are using #DailyMeds for #meditation needs: #zazen isn't always accessible for, say, #autistic people or ppl with physical differences that find stillness painful or otherwise just... not workable.
But I am pretty sure that I have some #ThichNhatHanh around here, with some sample #WalkingMeditation and #EatingMeditation options. If someone needs anything like that I can post them.
@Cobalt I really need to start walking meditation. We do kinhin at my temple but I would feel better doing walking meditation at home if I read about some diverse techniques (assuming there are some) so please do share :) #DailyMeds
@Cobalt (I have seriously had like 2 therapists, a doctor, and a Zen master urge me to do it, three of the four doing so in light of my particular mh tendencies)
@muninn @Cobalt I tried grounding cord and various breathing meditations but they never worked for me. My nose is always plugged, and it seems impossible to quiet my inner voice when I am still. Walking meditation was wonderful though. Def recommend it if you struggle with other forms.
There's story I heard long ago that swept me away on how simple things can be turned into meditative practice when done with 'the right mindfulness': https://www.insightmeditationcenter.org/books-articles/articles/the-many-ways-to-sweep/
@ultimape We did #MindfulEating at the Zen monastery, in fact there is a whole tradition called #oryoki. You could probably, as you observed, make anything mindful including gum, but the fact you're receiving nourishment may be an important part? Anyway it was about being fully aware of every bite and of your impulses to be mindless in some way (often greed, or disdain if you don't like your food) @Cobalt
