Well, hell, I finished #TheLastOfUs (part 1) and now I have all kinds of feelings.
I'm [checks notes] eleven years late to the party, so I don't expect the following to be earth shattering, but it turns out that #TheLastOfUs is a good game.
It was a remarkably cinematic experience, which is to say, the parts that were most engaging to me were the cinematic cutscenes between gameplay.
As opposed to #cyberpunk2077, I did not feel as though I was embodying Joel (or Ellie). I was watching them make decisions. About the only decisions I made was how to spend my upgrade points and whether to kill people loudly or quietly.
In an RPG I would be considering how my character would react to a given scenario. In #TheLastOfUs, I would sit back and say, "oh, Joel is going to straight up murder these people now."
@derek Your posts reminded me that I followed the #TheLastofUs hashtag ages ago, and I am happy I did, because I love hearing your first impression of it! Do you think you'll play the second one?
@ElectricDryad It was a great game. I think I liked the story more than the gameplay, so I'll watch a video playthrough.
