If it's policy that the CRAN team considers it rude to make well-intentioned errors while submitting or updating R packages, and that volunteers who make such errors must apologize during re-submission, that's noteworthy and significantly outside the norms for how package management platforms generally operate, and should be explicitly stated in the guidelines at https://cran.r-project.org/web/packages/policies.html .

So I was in the process of my first submission to CRAN and it's been removed (before due date for fixing) because I didn't apologize to prof. Ripley for not testing on Fedora 36 (?).
I didn't realize that the process was that personal. It's embarrassing. #rstats
@brainwane "CRAN doesn't welcome incremental improvement or give people an opportunity to learn" is so much shorter to write though!
