In his statement, #Trump accused #Zelensky of making “inflammatory” statements that he claimed would prolong the war [#gaslighting #lies #projection]

“If he wants #Crimea, why didn’t they fight for it 11 years ago when it was handed over to Russia without a shot being fired?” Trump [moronically] wrote. “The statement made by Zelenskyy today will do nothing but prolong the “killing field,” & nobody wants that!”

#JDVance’s comments came just hours after President #Zelensky said his country will never accept #Russia’s 2014 #occupation of #Crimea as legal, adding that doing so would violate Ukraine’s #Constitution. He also said that Ukraine could not accept any prohibition against becoming part of #NATO.
“There is nothing to talk about. This violates our Constitution. This is our territory, the territory of the people of Ukraine,”Zelensky told reporters.

"#Zelensky has been incredible in what he has managed to do since Feb 2022.

A novice politician, a novice leader coming from entertainment industry has to ensure #Ukraine survives v. world’s second-largest military. He does it.

A man who has taken all types of hits from propaganda, misinfo, disinfo campaigns — and now not only from the Russians but from the Trumpists.

He has that double whammy in 2025, along with the internal challenges, and he plays the best from a really, really bad hand"

The comments by the #JDVance appeared designed to increase pressure on President #Zelensky of #Ukraine, who has long refused to accept #Russia’s #occupation of his country’s lands, including the seizure of #Crimea in 2014 & territory taken by #Putin after it further invaded in early 2022.

In a 2nd blow to Zelensky, #Trump lashed out at the Ukrainian president afternoon, writing on his social media site, that “he can have Peace or, he can fight for another 3 years.” [see earlier post]
