• Like Linux sacrifices a lot in terns of #security and #performance for #readaility and #maintainability when compared to other #unix-esque kernels and that - alongside being relatively "permissively" licensed - made it so successful as it is today...

@kenji Good idea, but wouldn't it be better to ban #CCSS and force everything to be #FLOSS and thus #maintainable and #serviceable even if the manufacturer goes out of business or doesn't give any f**ks?

Maybe do mandatory support lifecycle declarations that are legally binding for said producers of CCSS or otherwise directly commercially offered software, firmware and/or hardware!
