Ever heard of “doxxing”? It might sound like hacker jargon, but it's a serious issue affecting everyday people.Let's explore what doxxing is, why it's problematic, the legal landscape (particularly in Illinois), how to protect yourself, and what actions to take if you become a victim.

This is so interesting.

#NH recently heard a house bill seeking to change this here, and the language was very similar regarding “recording a crime”.

The intent of the house bill is to allow people to record evidence of abuse since we are a two party consent state if I record your voice without your knowledge I committed a crime.

The committee was concerned the language regarding recording crimes was too broad and that means we could just record everybody we think is committing a crime, so I think they are trying to modify it to only include DV stuff.

This blog is regarding #illinois #FamilyLaw but I bet I can find something valuable to drop in public comments once our house bill goes to the Senate.

steelefamlaw.comCan Your Ex Legally Spy on You? Navigating Digital Privacy in an Illinois DivorceDivorce raises tough questions about privacy. Many ex-spouses wonder if it’s legal to monitor their former partner’s emails, phone, or whereabouts.

Look at this one lol so I didn’t realize we had alimony in New Hampshire, but apparently we do or they want us to.

But they don’t want there to be any alimony in no-fault divorce. It will only be awarded to the victimized party. So once you have a couple kids and you are done raising them your husband can divorce you and throw you on the street.

Good luck out there, don’t get married.

Oh and in a different bill they want to make all family law proceedings recorded and available, at this time they are sort of private. The transcripts are public record in some situations, but I’m OK with this. If men who are being divorced because they are awful have all that information available to women they’re trying to date in the future that’s great. Let’s do it.
