Passwortlose Authentifizierungsmethoden: Um #FIDO2-Tokens geht es bei Thorsten Scherf von Red Hat auf der #SLAC vom 6.-8. Mai 2024 in Berlin.

Authentifizierungsmethoden, die ohne ein Passwort zur Anmeldung an Linux-Systemen auskommen, sind zu einem heißen Thema geworden. Der System Security Services Daemon (SSSD) unterstützt in der aktuellen Version FIDO2-Tokens, womit nun auch eine Anmeldung von zentral gespeicherten Benutzerkonten an einem #Linux-System möglich ist.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching and research with undergraduate students in a liberal arts environment. We seek candidates with expertise in experimental physical chemistry, broadly defined, including those with interdisciplinary interests in areas such as materials science, biophysical chemistry, and environmental science. We are particularly interested in candidates who can help further our community goals in the areas of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect, including through a commitment to inclusive excellence in their teaching. A completed Ph.D. in chemistry or a related field with postdoctoral experience is preferred, but all applicants who will complete their Ph.D. by September 2024 will be considered. The position will involve teaching five courses per year within our trimester system, including regular contributions to the “Principles of Chemistry” series and upper-level physical chemistry (Chemical Thermodynamics and/or Quantum Chemistry as well as laboratories in kinetics and spectroscopy). The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to develop an advanced course related to their areas of expertise and research strengths. All laboratory courses benefit from the support of skilled technical staff. Chemistry faculty are expected to develop an active research program with Carleton undergraduates that contributes to their sub-field. The College offers a range of support for faculty research programs, including student stipends, support for grant writing, and science-wide programing for students. In addition, support for all aspects of faculty work at Carleton is provided by long-standing College and Department mentoring programs, cohort activities for new faculty, Provost's Office support, and extensive optional programming by our Perlman Center for Learning and Teaching. Carleton is a highly selective liberal arts college with a curious and enthusiastic student body of approximately 2,000 undergraduates. We are committed to cultivating a welcoming, supportive, and diverse community, including meeting 100% of demonstrated financial need for all students, with 58% of students receiving need-based grants and scholarships. Of our domestic students, 32% identify as people of color; an additional 11% of students come from outside the United States.
