#Crawltober "Sticky"
A local gecko for local people.
I love these little guys. Always amazed by how they seem to ignore gravity and hang at any which angle they feel like.

#Crawltober nr 27: #hagfish
It was hard to figure out a composition and pose that I wanted to do.
What strange creatures!

#Crawltober "cute"
An Egyptian fruit bat! (Link to reference photo in next post.)

#Crawltober #snail
I love snails and I can't explain why.
Based on a photo my mother took.

#Crawltober "Spines"
I thought about doing a cool caterpillar but I can never resist an excuse to illustrate a #hedgehog.

#Crawltober nr 22: "Mimicry"
This is a seven-spined crab spider. It looks like a flower. Apparently it does not make webs, and prefers to chill and wait for tasty prey to come to it.
#Crawltober nr. 21 - Woodlouse
I looked up pictures of the common pill woodlouse from the area I grew up in to make sure I got it right.
I loved to play with these little guys as a kid, and I still like them.
Known also as pill bugs, potato bugs roly-polies, and all manner of other names I've never used.
Did you know they can live up to 3 years? Me neither.

#Crawltober nr. 20: "Predator"
This is a marbled polecat.
Small and solitary, they eat all manner of rodents, insects, reptiles, snails, and have apparently even stolen poultry, meat, and cheese.

#Crawltober prompt: #slither
My dad had requested this creature since the start of Crawltober, and this is the first suitable prompt I could find for it. It's a "viviparous lizard", but I much prefer the Finnish word for it: sisilisko.
These little guys are very cute, but also very timid and zip away so fast that you're not even sure if you just saw a lizard from the corner of your eye or if you were imagining things.

#Crawltober "Venemous"
I could also have chosen "poisonous", but i think lion fish are incredibly beautiful and I've wanted an excuse to attempt to draw one for a long time now.
Sorry about the awkward angle. It's based on a photo I once took, and it was swimming above me.

#Crawltober scales
I'm not sure what it is.
I photographed this creature once upon a time, but unfortunately I only took a closeup, so I'm not sure if it's an alligator, crocodile, or something else...

#Crawltober #frog
This is an Uluguru forest tree frog, painted with #kuretake #watercolor
#Crawltober #bee
This is based on a photo of a #bumblebee I once took. I think bumblebees are so cute! Some of my favorite animals.

#Crawltober "Eyes"
This is a #watercolor painting with #kuretake paints of a Herona marathus (yellow pasha) caterpillar.
I think it looks like something that escaped from a studio Ghibli movie or a Pokémon creature.
