People always talk about how SUVs are impractical. And they are. But also, have you ever seen a sedan? What's the deal with those? What's the point? Why does sedans exist when hatchbacks do? Just get a hatchback if you want a sedan.

Car still "charging" according to the trickle charger, over 24 hours. Too spooked to try it rn but getting worried again. Surely going to eat a $500+ bill if I have to have it towed and looked at professionally.

Pissed there was no "low battery" signal. Never got the low tire pressure warning either--you pay EXTRA for those pieces of shit to be put in tires too apparently.

Almost 6 minutes to cross one intersection, near a school. I told my local representatives about this. They don't give a fuck. They drive cars. Almost everybody here drives cars and will drive cars, because the other options suck. It starts with land zoning, not building footpaths, car parking minimums, and ends with traffic light programming and a motorway through koala habitat.

I got stopped and asked some questions about my ebike on the way to the library today:

- How far does it go?
- How much did it cost?
- How long does it take to charge?
- How far have you ridden on it?

This was really encouraging to hear from normal people on the street. I tried my best to contrast the cost of owning an ebike to the cost of owning a car and how much cheaper this is for me.

I mentioned that it's allowed our household to go down to a single car and we've saved a lot of money as a result, and I mentioned that I had biked from all the way across town. Mostly, I was implying that my bike gives me a level of freedom I didn't previously experience with a car.

I think it worked. One of people said they were going to look into buying one.

@BicycleBen A horse costs less than a car and hay costs less than fuel. Space for a horse to sleep is around the same size as a parking space. You don't need insurance or registration for a horse and you don't need permission from the state to ride one or have it pull a cart for you. If you have space for two horses, they will make more horses for you. Cars are absolutely stupid. #FuckCars

Car Brain makes public transportation suck. Two train stations, one in Japan and one in America. In Japan, pedestrians and cyclists can easily access the station and there are groceries, convenience stores, and restaurants and tons of bicycle parking by the station. In America there is a freeway interchange to a 4-lane divided highway surrounding the station. Who is going to commute by train there? #CarBrain #PublicTransportation #Urbanism #FuckCars

It shouldn't just be a speed limit sign on the road. Cars should have speed limiters built into them that prevent people from driving faster than 20mph. Once that happens, car manufacturers won't have an incentive to make cars as large and heavy as they are. Cars will get smaller, lighter, cheaper, and more fuel efficient. They will be more like electric golf carts. #FuckCars
