Surely going to eat a $500+ bill if I have to have it towed and looked at professionally.</p><p>Pissed there was no "low battery" signal. Almost everybody here drives cars and will drive cars, because the other options suck. Kevin Cianfarini<p>I got stopped and asked some questions about my ebike on the way to the library today: </p><p>- How far does it go? <br>- How much did it cost? <br>- How long does it take to charge? <br>- How far have you ridden on it? </p><p>This was really encouraging to hear from normal people on the street. I tried my best to contrast the cost of owning an ebike to the cost of owning a car and how much cheaper this is for me. </p><p>I mentioned that it's allowed our household to go down to a single car and we've saved a lot of money as a result, and I mentioned that I had biked from all the way across town. Mostly, I was implying that my bike gives me a level of freedom I didn't previously experience with a car. </p><p>I think it worked. Cars should have speed limiters built into them that prevent people from driving faster than 20mph. Once that happens, car manufacturers won't have an incentive to make cars as large and heavy as they are. Cars will get smaller, lighter, cheaper, and more fuel efficient.
