As promised - #3Dprinting enthusiasts and #woodworking people of all ages - here is my handy little blade holder for your #jigsaw (if you own a #DeWalt).

I realized that it's a hassle to find a mounting screw for the thing if you don't have one handy from the cutting fence attachment, so I added a little pop-in split pin that seems to work very well and only looks slightly penis-like (not intentional - form follows function, what can I say).

Since #Makita is still selling in Russia ( som.yale.edu/story/2022/over-1 ) we've switched to #DeWalt tools, but we have lots of Makita batteries. I recommend this adapter from the usual online sources: "Waitley Battery Adapter for Makita 18V conversion compatible with Dewalt 18V / 20V Power Tools". It works great, and includes both USB-A with QC3 and USB-C with PD fast charging ports.
#PowerTools

So I've mostly been using #Ryobi tools and they've been OK but obviously light duty. Couple have handles that are already wearing out and I've killed a couple batteries.

I've got one buddy who went red (#Milwaukee), one who went yellow (#DeWalt) and one who went blue (#Makita). Of course.

I'm inclined to go yellow or red - they seem to be about on par and the Packout system seems like the clear winner of everything.

What do y'all recommend? #powertools #theshop

I inherited a cordless drill from my 2nd wife's late 1st husband. It was OK, but the batteries were on their last legs. Didn't want to buy new batteries for a very old tool. Then the drill fell, broke. GOOD! No more internal debate. Replace it.

I knew all would have multi things, so I went with one that also had ONE particular other tool - #PoleHedgeTrimmer.

#DeWalt

Been very happy, 2 years in.

How it started...
How it's going.

Demolished an old, badly constructed, and rotting walkway between the main house and our lounge/library/office.
Built a new one with proper framing, blackbutt decking and the correct fixings, plus correctly mounted the duct for power and TV aerial/satellite NBN dish, which had been hanging loose under the old deck.

I even recovered a small amount of hardwood that can be rejointed and used in a project at some point.

This should last a while.
