So excited to finally try Finjan Qahwa on the corner of Mission and Valencia. They are soft opening this week, so the hours are a little unpredictable, but their plan is to be open 7am-10pm most days (and open till 11pm on weekends). The building at 3300 Mission St is now completely demolished. #MissionDistrict #BernalHeights

It's wild to see how quickly this new building is popping up on Valencia and Cesar Chavez. This location, which was the giant parking lot for an old Sears building, is being turned into a 100% affordable housing development with 145 units of permanent housing for seniors ages 55 and older.

In 2016, a massive fire destroyed the building at 3300 Mission St, displacing 58 residents, a restaurant, and the 3300 Club. The fire also spread to 3316 Mission, destroying Cole Hardware there.
After 8 years, the burnt building is being torn down so construction can begin on a six-story building with 35 studio units of affordable housing and ground floor retail space.
