I tried to give my boss feedback about how she made me sad friday.
so she made me much sadder.
i don't know what I expected.
not only am i working on the wrong things, it's my fault for not magically figuring out what the right things are and prioritizing them.
@ansate Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. I've been there in the past.
Sadly, I have no advice to offer. My situation was resolved by all of us getting laid off. Which, admittedly, did solve the problem, but was a bit more scorched-earth than I desired.
@bmac it was particularly painful coming right after an on-site with my stakeholders where i felt like i was actually valued.
@ansate Avoiding the gaslighting is pretty critical here. Peers help. It seems like sitting around complaining is non-productive, but if you're comparing notes and getting a good baseline, that's time well spent.
@ansate
I'm so sorry.
@ansate classic, and always just a complete mystery about who was supposed to be helping you figure it out also
@ansate
@ansate Can I have her number? I need to discuss some things.
Kidding obviously. But I wish I could talk her into not being so bad at this. You're a person, not a psychic robot.
@ansate oof I know this song.
@ansate I'm so sorry. I need to tell my boss more often how much I appreciate her not being like this. It is so easy to take her for granted until I read experiences of others.
